About 30A & the Emerald Coast: the back story

The Emerald Coast is the Florida Panhandle’s Gulf shore, named for its green water and white sand. Scenic Highway 30A links small beach towns such as Seaside, Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach; Destin and Sandestin are to the west, and Pensacola is further on.

30A

Cycle between Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, WaterColor and Grayton Beach State Park.

Destin and Sandestin

Destin has its harbour and Henderson Beach State Park; Sandestin is a resort town of its own.

The Panhandle runs on Central Time, an hour behind Orlando and Miami.

Pensacola

The National Naval Aviation Museum and the white sand of Gulf Islands National Seashore.

Our advice: set your watch back an hour. Most of the Panhandle is on Central Time.
